This was a great gig! "Jazzå Bar" is the perfect place to be on a cold November evening - and when the Winter outfit took the stage (or, more correctly, sat down on their kitchen chairs) we could just as well have been in the Texas heat.
The Three Stooges below right (from left: Gert - our Country Cassette Creator in black Dead T-Shirt, Christer - the P.A.W.S.' Head Honcho and Johan - Music Entrepreneur and THE man to ask if you need info on bands coming to town) were mesmerized and almost forgot reordering a John Bull Bitter.

Gert Becker says:
"A nicely composed live act with tough and tender tunes ranging from country, blues and roots to rock, even with some touch of San Francisco psychedelia (Jerry's spirit still lives on!) - and sometimes they get into a Little Feat groove.
Anna-Lena never sounded better than today - and I've heard her a lot of times through the years. Queen Bee & the Zydeco Amigos were a nice band , but THIS band... WOW!
They sure got taste when it comes to picking songs which will suit them:
"Why Wasn't I More Grateful" (Maria McKee): a great rendition. "Evening Gown" (Mick Jagger): the best country song Mick's ever done - and Anna-Lena sings it like a queen. So good, so great.
"Mr. Jade" (Pete Droge): rarely covered. And you don't even miss the horns.
"The Road's My Middle Name" (Bonnie Raitt): makes you forget the original version completely..."

I'd like to add that they also feature original material of the highest quality. An impressive quartet altogether:
Anna-Lena - vocals, guitar
Hans - dobro, vocals
Johan - bass
Abbe - drums.

So you desperately want to book these guys for your Birthday Bash - or Saturday night at the local pub? Good thinking!
Send an e-mail to Hans Schakonat or Anna-Lena Winter! And have a look at their website for further info!
And if you (like me) were truly inspired by Hans' blues/jazz/JerryGarcia-trips on that beautiful golden Dobro's fretboard, why not get some funky gear yourself?! Visit our own guitar page for links to Dobros, Nationals...
Says Christer!
