Wicked:

A great new band for '98!
Perhaps not a pure blues band - see below - but they do sound appealing! Their website says it all!:

"A brand new band - but with a wealth of experience. If you're looking for a band that plays uninterrupted good-time music, that'll drive the audience stone crazy, and sends 'em home happy - then look no further. Rock and blues veterans Jim Rodford and Derek Griffiths have put together an outfit that combines presentation, professionalism and powerhouse sound that'll have every joint jumpin' and every audience screaming out for more. Not for the elderly or faint-hearted."

Lineup in '98:
Billy Miller: vocals
Kate O'Sullivan: vocals
Derek Griffiths: guitar (with Artwoods, Mike Cotton Sound, G.B. Blues Co.)
Chris Parren: keyboards (ex-Strawbs, Chris Farlowe)
Jim Rodford: bass (with Mike Cotton Sound, Argent, The Kinks - for the last 20 years, G.B. Blues Co.)
Steve Rodford: drums

When mailing Mr. Dave Backhouse, who acts as contact for this band, I received a very helpful answer including the following information:
" Yes, the band's name is "Wicked". However this name is such that we can add the odd word to it giving "Get Wicked", "It'll be Wicked tonite", "A wicked beat" etc etc. Ideal for posters..."

"It looks as if the keyboard player will be Cris Parren ex- Strawbs, Chris Farlowe and the drummer Steve Rodford - Jim's son. Also, yes it will be more of a soul band, but with strong blues overtones"
