I am a Liverpool girl originally, and moved to Sweden
when I met I tall blond Swede who walked into my place of work in 1974.
Some years later (now in Göteborg) I began my career singing blues-rock
with DeSoto - a band made up of ex Bad Brother members (big blues band
with Sam Westerberg of "Nynningen", one of the best known Swedish
bands of the 70's). From there I worked with Göran
Svenningsson and we formed "Little Suzy and the Nitestomp".
After that I was asked to join Al
Tehler's band Al's Alley. Then I toured for years with Pelle Lindberg
& Blue Tones. It was Chicago blues, uptempo and rough. Through Pelle
I met Örjan Hill who plays a killer "old time" piano, and
we developed a repertoire of classic blues. This duo formed the basis
of my band Sue's Blues, with whom I recorded the CD "Wild Women".
NEW CD NEW GOALS
I have sung all kinds of blues: from Classic to Chicago. With this record
we have changed course somewhat. My pianist Johan Johansson's arrangements
are "bluesey" without being limited to the traditional - although
some songs do have a "traditional" feel to them. The fantastic
violinist Pelle Bolander, adds a dimension no other Swedish blues band
has. Our aim is still to play the blues but to coax it into the new millenium.
