Blues for uncle Sam
A brand new CD (May 2008) - the band's 2nd - featuring Sir Jay and his swinging compadres. A smoking outfit from the South of Sweden.
Quotes on the band from Jalle Olsson's (Box Records' head honcho) writings on Sir Jay's website pre-"Blues for uncle Sam":
"This is an exciting group stationed in the very south part of Sweden (Malmö). The orchestra is made up of seasoned professional musicians with a passion for the blues and swinging jive of the `40s and `50s, and are ready to deliver a sweaty show at any given moment - they surely knows how to entertain an audience!!!!

They formed in 2001 and received fantastic reviews for their debut album "Let´s Jump Tonight!" (distribution Playground, Scandinavia). The Swedish bluesmagazine, "Jefferson", called it one of the best albums of the year [2002].

Sir J. and his gang are open for any kind of gig!!! They have played all kinds of liveshows; jazz/bluesfestivals in Scandinavia, weddings, smoky small joints….they´ve done it all. Nearly 150 shows up to this very moment. These are fine people, a little crazy though!"

The Orchestra:
Sir J. Åsling: vocals & weird swinging notes from his guitar
Ulf Göransson: drums
Pascal Bjerrehus: upright bass
Magnus Nörrenberg: Keyboards, Hammond B3
Jalle Hoffman: altosaxophone
Mattias Carlsson: tenor/baritone saxophone
Jonas Palm: tenor/baritone saxophone
Niklas Fredin : trumpet
